My buddy Shoey came to Alchemy with only one eye. People would look at him and even though they loved his personality would say, “I just can’t get past the one eye.” Shoey stayed in the office greeting people with that lovable Beagle attitude that people can’t get enough of, but could not find a home until Lori came in one day…

Lori and John adopted Mercy (kna Little Miss Claire) from Alchemy in 2006. When Lori happened to come in last April, she fell in love with Shoe Shine. She left without him but was not without him in mind. She could not get over his irresistibleness. Later, Lori and John adopted Shoey!
From the Adopting family:

I thought I would update you on Shoey (Shoeshine). He is doing wonderful! He is one of the best pets we have ever had. We had no problem when we brought him home. I think by us bringing Claire to meet him was a great idea. He has slept in our bed, along with Claire, since the first night he has been home. He is such an extremely loving dog. Him and Claire get along wonderfully. He also loves playing with the cats. I am so happy that we came back to get him. He has been an added blessing to our family. He also loves it when our two small grand babies come over. He will just guard over them so gently. I'm so glad that the timing worked out so perfect and that he is ours. I really appreciate your mission and am so thankful. If it were not for Alchemy, we would not have Claire nor Shoey. Attached are a few pictures of the cute little guy. Take care and thanks again.
